Overview: Depression
Most of us have felt depressed, discouraged, frustrated at times. Nothing could be more ordinary. But when these feelings deepen, persist, or begin to feel unmanageable it may indicate a shift from typical or usual day-to-day disturbances to something more like the beginning of true (major) depression. It is thought that approximately 7 to 9% of adult Canadians will suffer from major depression at some point in their lifetime.
